Dr. Adriana Rincón-Villegas is an Assistant Lecturer of Political Science at University of Alberta. She holds a PhD in Global Governance and Human Security from University of Massachusetts Boston, a MA in Geography from University of Georgia, and a Law degree from Universidad de Bogotá Jorge Tadeo Lozano (Colombia). Dr. Rincón-Villegas received the UMB-GGHS Excellence in Dissertation Research Award 2021, UMB-SSRC Transdisciplinary Dissertation Proposal Development program award 2017, and DAG Chandra Sriram Early Career fellow 2019 of the Dialogue Advisory Group in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Her research interests include the politics of the Global South, decolonial feminism, critical approaches to peace and transitional justice, and discourse analysis.
